Holes 4-7

An aerial view of the fifth hole shows that the approach has shrunk considerably, and the large approach bunker has been eliminated.
The seventh green doesn’t look to have changed much, however, a large amount of cupping space was gained by softening the mounds that were on the front left and right of the green.
An aerial photo showing holes 3-7.
Work is currently taking place on the fourth hole. The right bunker was shrunk and a second bunker was added on the left side.
A down hole view of the fifth.
The sixth will feel like a new hole. In order to increase safety on the course, two bunkers were added on the right side of 6 fairway. This forces play to the left and away from the fifth tee box.

Hole 1 Flyover

A new look to the first hole will be sure to give the feeling of a new golf course right out of the gate. More then just a typical bunker project, with new contours and tie-ins, the course will truly feel like a new golf course.

Work Begins on #6

 Before work has begun.

Work begins with the demolition of old bunkers and the prepping of new bunkers by sod cutting the area of disturbance.

Holes 1 and 2 Progress

Hole #1 is nearing completion with all shaping finished, sod installed, and stone in place. The Better Billy Bunker liner is scheduled to be sprayed today and bunker sand should be installed early next week.

Pictured above is work being completed on #2 fairway bunkers. These 3 bunkers were rebuilt into 1 larger bunker. As seen, sod was stripped across the fairway so that a new bunker drainage outlet could be installed.

In this picture you can see that hole #2 is nearing completion. All stone should be completed by the end of the day. Sod will be finished next week.

Nearing the halfway point

Hole #18 is nearing full completion. The green complex pictured here has been completed with sand in bunkers. The fairway bunkers should be completed by the end of the week or early next week.

Sod on the right side of #1 green was lifted and reshaped to increase pin locations and to tie-in to the new grading on the right side of the green.

Pictured here is the work being done on the left bunker on #1 fairway. Mass amounts of soil must be moved surrounding some bunkers, such as this one, to recapture the natural grade and contours of the land as it was when Donald Ross designed the course.

Hole 11 Nearing Completion

Hole 11 is nearing completion after drainage was finished in the right green side bunker and a majority of the disturbed area was sodded yesterday.

The sandy areas on the players left, right and front of the green, as seen in the overhead picture, are newly contoured areas. Over time, sand accumulation from bunker shots builds up and raises the putting surface. In these areas, the green was lowered as much as 8 inches to recapture the natural contours of the putting surface.

A greens expansion was also completed in the back of this green. Increasing the cupping space on a green that has a limited number of pin placements.

15 Green Before/After

Before

During

After

The above pictures of 15 green complex show the before, during and after aerial views. In the "during" picture: left bunker has been completed and was ready for polymer, right bunker had drainage completed as seen in the picture, back runoff area was shelled out and drainage was being installed, and a new irrigation line was trenched in the front right of the green.

Better Billy Bunker Liner

Several holes have been completed with sod. Pictured above is the front right bunker on 9 green being sprayed with the Better Billy Bunker polymer. Once this has cured these holes will be finished with the addition of bunker sand.

9 Green Sodding

As we progress through the project, bunkers are beginning to be completed with sod. Pictured here is 9 green surround being prepped for sod, and the new approach being sodded.

Work at 15 Continues

With holes 13 and 14 ready for final prepping and sod, we continue to work on 15 green and it’s surround. In order to recapture the natural flow of the land and a classic Donald Ross look, we have spent a great deal of time on this hole to perfect our process moving forward.
